Day 7 Shanghai 龍華寺
Visited Long Hua Temple today. It was built during the period of the three kingdoms! And we got to enter the inner chambers to pay respects to Master Ming Yang's shariras. These are really miraculous things of the buddhist world. Bones that turn into jade. There was one that looked like a monk in meditation! We also met the artist responsible for many of the new buddhist images in China today.
We left Ramada Inn and moved to Crown Plaza Hotel today. And for a 5 star hotel, the room was a disappointment. The toilet stinks and the entire room had a very depressive feeling to it. Then Madalena called and asked if I wanted to change rooms and ended up on the 10th floor again. Its interesting how i end up in the 10th floor for all 3 hotels. 1069, 1015 and now 1016.
Had dinner at a restaurant called 五觀堂 and bumped into Wesley there! All the menus are handwritten by different people. But due to the labor intensity of that, there was insufficient menus to go around. When the food came around, Aunty Guo Cuc made the comment in Cantonese “Wah! Kam Dai!” (Wow! That big?) and we all started laughing. The servings were ridiculously small for the amount that we were paying. Oh well, its an experience.
